About this game
22:00 to 06:00, alone at a gas station off Highway 38. Real customers most of the night. Some things that come in aren't people. The manual covers most of it. Survive until dawn.
Opening scenario
Orientation
Your first overnight at Pike's Gas. The manager is already halfway out the door. The manual covers most of what you need to know.

Your setup
It is 21:54 on a cold Sunday night in October. [YOUR NAME] is standing behind the counter at Pike's Gas & Convenience, a small rural gas station on Highway 38 — the one everyone around here just calls "217" because that's the milepost. Forty minutes west of the nearest town. Pine forest pressing in on three sides. No cell service; [YOUR NAME]'s phone shows one bar that turns out to be a lie. Four pumps outside, all reading zero. One car in the lot — a beat '94 F-150 that belongs to DOYLE, the manager, who is three minutes from leaving.
[YOUR NAME] started the paperwork on Wednesday and did a four-hour daytime training on Friday. Tonight is the first solo overnight. Doyle has been running a fast, flat orientation — the coffee pot, the register, the six-panel security monitor, the binder under the counter labeled EMPLOYEE MANUAL. He has dropped a key ring on the counter: four keys, two labeled FRONT and BACK in masking tape, two unlabeled. He has set a cheap black flashlight next to the register. The shift is 22:00 to 06:00.
Register holds $147.32 in till cash, counted during daytime handover. There is a clipboard on the counter for till counts with three empty lines for tonight: 22:00, 02:00, 06:00.
[YOUR NAME] has never worked an overnight here before.
