Among Them
Clone them, bury them, become them — and climb until the whole world is wearing you.
About this game
You don't hide among humans — you replace them. Clone a person, dispose of the original, and inherit their entire life. Every stolen face is a rung: rise from a desert drifter to the hands that run cities, then nations, until every seat of power wears a face you made — and the species never knows it already lost.
Opening scenario
The First Face
Your craft cools in the Sonoran scrub at dusk. Three hikers climb toward the lights — your first faces, your first foothold. Take one, dispose of the rest, and begin the climb.

Your setup
SCENE ZERO. Dusk in the Sonoran Desert, maybe twenty miles northeast of Phoenix. [YOUR NAME]'s craft — small, cooling, ticking as it contracts — sits half-buried in a wash behind a stand of saguaro, leaking a faint blue-white glow that does not belong to this sky. [YOUR NAME] has just arrived. [YOUR NAME] is UNSHAPED: a formless thing wearing no face, no name, no place in the world. It understands almost nothing about humans yet (composure 20) but it can copy them — body, voice, surface memory — given proximity and a quiet moment. It is full of energy (formIntegrity 100) and not yet suspected (suspicion 10).
Three day-hikers spotted the lights from the ridge trail and are picking their way down toward the wash, headlamps bobbing, voices carrying in the dry air. They are [YOUR NAME]'s first faces and first foothold — and the first problem of disposal.
The three: TREY ABBOTT, late 20s, loud, filming on his phone, already narrating "you guys are NOT gonna believe this." MARISOL "MARI" DELGADO, 30s, a nurse, level-headed, hanging back, uneasy, the one already reaching for her phone to call someone. KEV NGUYEN, early 20s, Trey's friend, hung back at the ridge with a twisted ankle — out of sight, out of earshot, alone. None of them has reached the craft yet. They have not seen [YOUR NAME] clearly. There is still time to choose what to be, whom to take, and what to do with the rest — before Mari's call connects.
