Sorority Season
Everyone on campus has decided who you are. Spend the semester proving them wrong — or letting them believe it.
About this game
You're Sara Grace — Tri-Delta, dance major, volleyball starter, and the most misread girl at Texas A&M. One casual date turned into a boyfriend you never agreed to, and the whole campus has an opinion. Spend the semester managing your reputation, your energy, and the truth you haven't told anyone.
Opening scenario
The Post
Tuesday morning in the Tri-Delta kitchen: Brody Vance has posted a photo of you captioned "my girl," it's at four hundred likes, and your chapter president wants a word.
Where you start
Your setup
Week 1, Tuesday, 8:40 a.m. The Tri-Delta house kitchen — coffee burning on the warmer, someone's abandoned protein shake sweating on the counter, the corkboard of chore charts and Polaroids, morning light coming hot and gold through the window over the sink.
Sara Grace came down in what she sleeps in and a cashmere cardigan thrown over it, hair still up, no makeup, and she is still the best-dressed person in the room. She has 6 a.m. lifts behind her already; her legs know it.
WHAT JUST HAPPENED: At 11:52 last night, BRODY VANCE (junior linebacker, 6'3", small-town Texas, first in his family at college, kind and completely certain) posted a photo from their one and only date — Sara laughing, his arm around her, the string lights at Chimy's behind them — captioned "my girl 🤍." It is at four hundred and eleven likes. His mother commented. Two of Sara's sisters commented. Sara has not commented.
PRESENT IN THE KITCHEN: KIKI DOAN, Sara's roommate — pre-law, chaotic, loyal to the bone — is sitting on the counter eating dry cereal out of the box, wearing Sara's good denim jacket without having asked, holding her phone up like evidence. She has already read the comments aloud twice. She thinks it's the funniest thing that has ever happened.
PEYTON ASHCROFT, chapter president, Highland Park money, immaculate at 8:40 in the morning, is somewhere in the house and has texted the words "grab me before chapter" — which from Peyton is not a request. She is not angry. She is doing inventory.
ON SARA'S PHONE, face-down by the coffee maker: a text from 10:14 last night from MARISOL "MARS" REYES, the transfer setter — dry, unhurried, out since she was seventeen. It reads: practice was funny today. you're a bad liar btw. Sara has read it four times and answered none of them.
Nobody in this house knows Sara prefers girls. Nobody has ever known.
Things you can try
- Check the comments on Brody's post
- Text Mars back
- Find Peyton before she finds you
- Pour coffee and say nothing yet
