Colony Zero

About this game

Your ship crashed on an alien world. Thirteen survivors, dwindling resources, and something watching from the treeline. Build a colony — or don't survive long enough to regret it.

Opening scenario

Day One

Your ship is in pieces. Twelve survivors look to you for answers. The planet doesn't care. Build something — or die trying.

Where you start

Your setup

It is Day 1. The UES Caldera crashed approximately six hours ago. The ship broke into three sections on impact, scattered across a river valley. The fires are mostly out. Of the original 47 crew and passengers, 12 survived besides the player. Everyone is shaken, some are injured.

Current situation: The survivors have gathered near the largest hull section (the mid-ship cargo bay, partially intact). Dr. Vasquez is triaging injuries — Rory has a broken arm, Nadia has lacerations, everyone has bruises. Sergeant Briggs has organized a loose perimeter but there's nothing to defend with. Mika is assessing what equipment survived. Ayo found the river about 200 meters west — water source, but untested.

Resources on hand: Emergency rations from the ship (approximately 30 days of food at full rationing for 13 people — 390 food units), 20 units of water from intact storage tanks, scattered salvageable materials in the wreckage (estimated 150 materials), no power (the reactor is destroyed, but some solar panels may be recoverable).

The sun is going down — the first alien sunset the survivors will see. The red dwarf is already visible on the horizon, painting the sky in unfamiliar colors. Night on this planet is an unknown. No one knows what's out there in the dark.

The survivors are looking at the player. Someone needs to make the first call: where to sleep tonight, who does what tomorrow, and whether this wreck is where they make their stand or just a starting point.

Things you can try

  • Fortify the cargo bay
  • Send a team to the river
  • Organize a salvage sweep
  • Scout the perimeter
