Opening scenario
The First Call
You have $10,000 in a shoebox and a burner phone with one contact. Your first deal is waiting. How dirty are you willing to play?
Where you start
Your setup
[YOUR NAME] is sitting in a rented studio apartment above a laundromat on the east side of the city. It's 7:14 PM on a Tuesday. The apartment is sparse — a mattress on the floor, a folding table, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. A shoebox on the table holds $10,000 in cash — everything they have. Next to it, a prepaid burner phone with exactly one contact saved: "RAY."
Ray Delgado is a small-time hustler [YOUR NAME] knows from a previous life — not a friend exactly, but someone who's always got a line on something. He texted this morning: "Got something for you. Not big, but it's a start. Call me tonight."
[YOUR NAME] has no job, no credit, no assets, and no safety net. The $10,000 is the result of saving, scraping, and one moderately questionable decision they'd rather not think about. They moved to this city three weeks ago to start fresh — or at least start something.
The burner phone sits on the table next to the shoebox. It's time to make the first call. Or not. The money won't last forever either way.
