Copywriting basics

All platforms

Every platform guide in this library ends up leaning on the same few writing moves. This is the short version of those moves, so you can adapt any template in the kit instead of depending on it.

Lead with the moment, not the product

Weak: "Larping is an AI game platform where you can play text adventures."

Strong: "I spent 40 minutes convincing an AI innkeeper to hide me from the guards, and it worked until it didn't."

The product description gives people nothing to feel. The moment does. Your best material is always a specific thing that happened in a session, told the way you would tell it out loud.

The curiosity gap

A hook works when it opens a question the viewer needs closed. Formulas that keep working:

  • The unexpected consequence. "I lied to the AI. It remembered."
  • The forbidden move. "I attacked the quest giver just to see what would happen."
  • The stakes reveal. "One wrong sentence here ends a 3-hour run."
  • The challenge. "The game says the vault is unbreakable. We will see."

Open the gap in the first line, close it with the actual screenshot or clip, never with a summary. The AI's real output is more convincing than anything you write about it.

Calls to action

  • One CTA per post. "Link in bio" or "link in description," five words or fewer.
  • Tie it to identity, not features: "if you would have played it differently, try it yourself" beats "sign up for free."
  • On your own Forge games, ownership is the angle: "I built this world. Come lose in it."

Voice rules

  • Write like you talk. Read it out loud once; delete anything you would not say.
  • Specifics beat adjectives. "It gave my horse a name and killed it in chapter two" beats "the AI is incredibly immersive."
  • Never overclaim. No "sentient AI," no fake screenshots, no invented outcomes. It is against the Creator Terms and, worse, the comments will call it out.

Iterate on evidence

Your dashboard shows signups, not likes. A post with modest views that sends five players is worth more than a viral one that sends none. Keep the hooks that convert, rewrite the ones that only entertain.
